Washington Square Chiropractic Centers have been providing healthcare in Center City Philadelphia since 1994. Founded by husband and wife Zachary Weiser and Yana Shenkman, the mission of Washington Square Chiropractic Centers has been to treat people with vertebral subluxations (spinal and biomechanical misalignments) in order to reveal their wholeness and reestablish humanity’s alignment with Universal Intelligence (Life’s innate capacity to sustain itself). Stated simply, we strive to remove interferences to nerve flow to any part of the body by adjusting the positions of the vertebrae that are causing those interferences. When nerve flow within the body is not full, then the life force in the body is not full. We understand that to be the cause of departure from true health and the cause of much pain. When nerve flow is restored to full function, pain is reduced and health is increased markedly.

If the degree of departure from wellness has become great enough that the patient’s body is expressing true disease, appropriate referral to medical care is made. Otherwise, our practitioners assist patients toward recovery through enhancement of the body’s innate drive toward wellness.
From our inception we have strived to learn and implement the most advanced and the most gentle low force methods available in the chiropractic profession. We use a method of chiropractic known as the Sacro Occipital Technique (SOT) as we have found it to be one of the safest and most highly effective techniques in the profession. We are humbled by the role we are given in serving our patients and so we create close, healing relationships with each one. Each patient is guaranteed to be heard, understood and treated as an individual relative to their chiropractic and wellness needs as well as in any referral we may make for consultations with other providers who can better handle specific health care needs outside of the realm of chiropractic.
