Our Doctors
Dr. Zachary Weiser decided to become a chiropractor after his experiences in the field of neurophysiology. Wanting to find a clinical application for his experiences, Dr. Weiser found his answer in the Sacro-Occipital Technique (SOT) model of chiropractic, with its focus on using neurophysiological indicators to diagnose patients, and then to gauge their improvement. In 1994 Dr. Weiser founded Washington Square Chiropractic with his wife, Dr. Yanina Shenkman, and together the two have nurtured the practice into the success that it is today. At present, Dr. Weiser is the only doctor who is treating patients at Washington Square Chiropractic Center regularly.
Dr. Yanina Shenkman began her career as a physical therapist with a specialization in back care. Dr. Shenkman emphasized exercise and a treatment style based in Craniosacral Therapy and Myofascial Release Therapy and continued with this method for several years. Desiring a more independent form of practice but wanting to maintain a similar practice style and philosophy, Dr. Shenkman decided to become a chiropractor. She found a natural fit with the Sacro-Occipital Technique (SOT) which complemented and expanded her prior practice experience.
